Ask about the personal cost situation in advance.
Planning an appointment series instead of individual trips
Dialysis rides often recur on fixed weekdays. Plan the dialysis centre, pickup address, treatment days, times, return rides and mobility needs as one series, and report changes early.
Prescription and approval
The KBV lists outpatient dialysis among the high-frequency treatments for which a medical ride may be prescribed when the applicable conditions are met. Clarify with the treating practice and health insurer whether prior approval is required and which documents apply. PrimaFahrten cannot promise reimbursement.
What costs can be incurred?
When a German statutory health insurer covers the ride, co-payment rules generally apply. The Federal Ministry of Health states ten percent of the fare, with a minimum of five euros and a maximum of ten euros per ride, but never more than the actual cost.
Recurring appointments require complete information on pickup, return rides, mobility and changes.
