The special transport service
Application, costs, special features
Berlin's WirMobil special transport service
Berlin's public special transport service supports eligible people with disabilities with private journeys for leisure and social participation. It is organised by the State of Berlin and currently operates under the name WirMobil. PrimaFahrten does not operate this public service.
How do you obtain an eligibility number?
Passengers need an eligibility number from Berlin's State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGeSo). The process begins with an application to the Berlin Benefits Office for the German disability marker “T”, which indicates participation in the special transport service. LAGeSo lists criteria including the marker “aG”, a mobility-related degree of disability of at least 80 and documented difficulty climbing stairs. The authority makes the individual eligibility decision.
After approval, eligible passengers register with WirMobil. Booking methods, notice periods, operating information and special deadlines can change. Check the current LAGeSo or WirMobil information before booking.
Costs and own contribution of the special transport service
For each trip with the special service, you pay an own contribution. The monthly accounting for the own contribution is paid by the LAGeSo. The remaining costs are covered by the Land of Berlin. The own contribution costs monthly per trip.
- until 8th ride: €2,05 per ride
- from 9th trip: 5,00 € per trip
- from the 17th journey: 10,00 € per journey
Taxi costs
With a valid eligibility number, passengers may be able to submit taxi receipts, including receipts for accessible inclusion taxis. The passenger initially pays the fare. Reimbursement, required documents, personal contributions and monthly limits follow the current LAGeSo rules. Obtain a complete original receipt and check the current conditions before the ride.
Accessible rides for medical appointments, school or work
Independent of the public special transport service, PrimaFahrten accepts requests for planned private journeys, medical and therapy appointments, and school or work routes. We check each request using the route, time, mobility needs and building access. Cost coverage and specific vehicle or assistance arrangements cannot be promised in general.
